We are just a riot

This needs no introduction, yet just writing that is, indeed, and introduction. So…

We are not phantoms yet, not a memory yet. We are just a riot waiting to be broken and dispersed.

“Amor en la Zona Colonial” by Nathalie Handal

When asked if she puts life before work Handal responds:

My life definitely comes before work but poetry is not work — it’s that quiet breathing that allows life not to be the most difficult part of living.

Handal is a poet whose words I will always be seeking.

  1. Wow. Great line and thanks for the link. There’s beauty in those words like the kind of slap in the face that gives a sudden illumination of light.

….If that makes any sense at all….
